Black Cat Skirt
Jul. 22nd, 2004 05:42 pmSo, I'm finally getting around to posting this. I made my first skirt a few weeks ago! Hand-sewn; took me over 7 hours and about 929 clumsy pricks with the needle. I did everything except the hem, which I took to a seamstress 'cause I knew I'd botch it. :) It's twirly and I love it to bits. The fabric came from the kiddie clearance bin at Hancock's.

Aaand the skirt in action. I love this photo 'cause it perfectly sums up the relationship between Dad and me.

One small problem: the T-shirt waistband came out kinda crooked and doesn't sit quite right on my waist. You can kind of see it in the first photo. It stretches out when I pull it over my hips. What would be the simplest way to solve this problem without completely ripping apart the waistband? A drawstring? Sew some elastic in?
