[identity profile] risafu.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
okay, so I finally have something to say (look for more stuff in a month or two when i'm on break for school, I'm gonna be Crafty like a Mofo)instead of just lurking.

I just taught myself how to crochet. Trust me, it really is hard to teach yourself. The directions and the pictures in the book caused me to do slip stitches, when I was attempting single crochet. So, I finally figured out what I did wrong and things are much easier now.

QUESTION: I found this great afghan pattern and I want to make one for my boyfriend by christmas in some sort of shade of green. My pattern calls for 58 ounces of yarn. Micheals didn't have the color I wanted. I looked on JoAnn.com and found a gorgeous cotton emerald green, but it was sold in 2.5 ounces... it would cost about 50 bucks to make. Does anyone know of a place online i can buy nice, soft 4 ply yarn for cheap? And has anyone compared the selection of JoAnn.com to the selection at their local JoAnn?

Projects that I plan to post when I find a digital camera and figure out how to upload...
Brave It stress collage, my waves nightstand and a table top mosiac I plan to start soon. And of course pictures of the afgan when its done!
