I need some help. ^^ While I was out shopping the other day, I picked up this little wooden box. It's plain, and made of sort of cheap material, so I want to spruce it up. But what can one expect for a dollar? :D I plan to replace the latch and hinges because they are really cheap. With a little pressure, they'd bend really bad.

I'm not sure what to do to it, though. It's made out of wood that's two colors... so it alternates. Light and dark. o.O I was thinking of painting it, and maybe glueing beads along the edges. Or finding a way to make it look like metal. o.O

Any ideas? ^^ I'm looking for a lot because I might go back later this week and pick up some more if they still have some. I know I could make at least one into a gift for my mother, and hopefully I can make some nice ones for other people. ^_^

I took some pictures, in case it might help. They aren't very good because my webcam sucks. ._. Also, the colour is off. It isn't quite that dark. x_x It's actually a lot lighter. x_x

This is the front if the box. o.O

And this is the side.

And the top. o.o

I didn't take a picture of the back since it's pretty much the same as the front, but with hinges.

And on another note, I'm crocheting a Slytherin scarf for myself, and one for my friend. ^^ Out of my local stores limited yarn selection, I picked the two best colours I could find. Grey Heather and Dark Sage. ^^

And while I'm at it, I have another question. Does anyone besides me have a problem with hopping from project to project? I tend to have 3 or more things in progress at a time. o.o
