Stencils

I have been into making my own stencils lately for some strange reason.. just wondering if anybody here can suggest materials to use to make stencils. i have been using cardstock and odd bits of thick papers to make stencils out of but does anybody know of a more durable material i could reuse that would still be easy to cut?

i have made some silkscreens out of some of my designs but i would rather do some spray painting on these stencils. thanks in advance for any advice you guys and gals lend me. and i will post photos of my work if anybody is interested.
