So. My kid is husky. Shes also a girl, so I am having problems finding those cute little flared pants with the designs on them for her (shes "changing her image" this year and apparently wants to look a little less like a 10 year old Punky Brewster) I have bought a LOT of bigger sized jeans that fit her belly (she will hit a growth spurt soon, God willing) but they are about a foot too long, so they are all straight legged and waiting for my friend to get back in town to alter them.
My question is...I could do this, right? I mean, its not rocket science, but given that the last time I even touched a sewing machine, I was younger than her, and that was with my grandmother hovering over me, its not like I have any sewing skills to speak of. Im a quick learner, and have recently found myself with a whole lot more time than I had before, so...any ideas on a good sewing machine for a newbie?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I guess part of what I am concerned about is where the crotch is on the bigger sized pants. Shes short and stocky, so the crotch doesnt sit right.
