robot activity blanket
Sep. 5th, 2004 09:37 amI finally finished this for my son. It's a little lumpy and crooked but I'm happy with it and more importantly so is my son.

Here it is. The background is a starry cotton fabric. All of the appliques are textured fabrics like velour, flannel, satin, tulle, felt, terry, lame, and vinyl. The vinyl was horrible to sew. The planet at the top has bells in it and comes out of a clear vinyl pocket. There are crinkles under some stuff and the panel on the robot's tummy opens. There is also a teething ring that is detatchable.

Here's what you see when you open the robot's belly. I printed a picture of myself, my husband and my son on transfer paper and ironed it on to a piece of white fabric then sewed it on. I think its the best part of the blanket.

And here's how happy my son was when he saw the blanket. He went straight for the tulle. And slobbered all over it. :(
