is it possible to permanently dye or paint rubber? specifically the soles of converse type shoes. i've acquired some fakey ones, and they're not the greatest. i'm planning to dye the canvas, but i thought the coolest thing ever would be if i could get the rubber to go (and stay) a really vibrant colour, like pink or red.

i suppose i could use permanent markers, but i was thinking something that'd look a little more professional.
