I made a post earlier about piping and I was so impatient that I was patient, if that makes any sense. I ended up just handsewing on piping I made myself (go me!) instead of running to the store. Also changed the white buttons to nifty aqua colored ones. Here are the results:

Will definitely pick up Unique Stitch anyway next time I go to the store and some more jackets from the thrift store to breathe life into. This is addicting. Thanks for such kind and helpful responses - definitely such a nice break from all the egos and attitudes.
