So i love the natural orchid flowers coated in resin at firemountaingems.com but they're a little pricey. So, i just made one myself.

I didn't really know what the hell I was doing and could find no instructions for making orchids out of sculpey, so I just winged it. I'm not 100% happy with the way it came out but i figure it's a decent first try.

It's made with sculpey III, 1 part white, .5 pearl and a pea sized ball of red. rolled out a sheet, cut up and hand shaped some pieces, drew in some veins, la la la . I secured everything together with liquid sculpey

After it was baked and cooled I colored it in with chalks. Added in some more liquid sculpey where it seemed a little weak and baked it again.

When it was completely cool I mixed up some poly resin and coated it then let it dry overnight. It's got a hole in the back so it could be used as a pendant although I'm not going to use it as such until I can refine them a little better.

Fairly standard xyron constructed birthday cards. The top cards have a handmade glitter paper using some cardstock, my xyron and my laminator. It's something i want to experiment more with in the future. All the stickers are premade clay accents. Trimmed out with metallic fibers and paper ribbon.

Enjoy ;)
