I made something nifty! I wish I had thought to take a before picture... but anyways, after is good enough, right?

Well anyways, I found some old suitcases that belonged to my grandmother. These things have to be at least 40 years old, and were a lovely faded green in color. When I pulled the lining out of one it revealed they were made of WOOD! That's how old they are! Okay, these things were all stained both inside and out, and the fabric on the inside was torn, and coming out. So naturally first I gave those bad boys a good coat of paint, covering the metal, to make them a nice and clean black. On the big suitcase I ripped out the lining from the bottom part (retaining the pockets on the top) and then spraypainted everything within. Then I took this cushion padding and cut two layers and stuck em in the emptied part. I cut out some compartments in the foam and what did I end up with?

A PERFECT case for major transportation of photographic equipment with a lock and everything! The middle will eventually be cut out and made into compartments too.

Best part? COMPLETLY FREE! Made all from stuff I already had!!!

(ps, the smaller one is for my mamiya and bronica cameras, the inside is not yet finished)
