[identity profile] divans.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Hi! My name is Dana and I'm a total newb. To the community and to the general sewing thing. But, Homecoming is arriving shortly (October 9th) and the theme is Ghostbusters. So I purchased a Ghostbusters costume online and now it's arrived. It's a child's costume and I'm 5'9", but it fits pretty well everywhere but in the length of the extremities. Plus it's huge in the sleeves. I want to make the pants part of the jumpsuit into a skirt and take in the sleeves so they're a bit less frumpy. If you could give me some suggestions on how you think this would be easiest for me to go about doing, I'd really appreciate it!

Sorry for the blurry.

The pants come up to about mid-calf on me and I'd like it to be at least knee-length. Shorter is fine.
It says it's a polyester/cotton blend, if that helps any. Also I'd like to add some tulle underneath to make it girlier and frillier?

I hate to be a beggar for tips but you're a knowledgable community so I turned to you first ^____^

Thanks for any help you can provide!
