i just learned to knit a few weeks ago & have since made 4 scarves. i like them more with each one i make.

this was my first attempt at a scarf. it's from stitch n' bitch, the beginners scarf & instead of stripes i did a two-tone design. i don't remember what the yarn was. i bought it at the rag shop & it cost about $5 or so per skein. i used 2 skeins & casted on about 15 stitches since my husband said he wanted something "really thick".

this was for my 3 year old niece, annabelle. she doesn't understand that a scarf is not a jump rope but that's ok. for annabelle's i used red heart bright & lofty super bulky. the color is called "bubblegum". i casted on only 6 stitches since she's tiny & the scarf needed to be too.

this was for my 14 year old sister, veronica. for the tassels i used some of the yarn left over from annabelle's scarf. the rest was a similiar yarn to the scarf below, maybe even the same brand (i don't remember, i really need to save the sleeves). i casted on ten stitches.

this was for me but after my mom saw it she wanted it so, now it's hers. this one was also started with ten stitches.

i hope i'm using the right terminology. i'm very new to this. oh & i xposted to [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl & [livejournal.com profile] knitting
