craftgrrl | Red and black "fluufffy" pleated skirt! (Reply)

Yaaay...what do you know...I actually sewed something! I made this for someone, so hopefully she'll like it...if not...I'll sell it or keep it haha. It took me a while to finish...I started on it probably a month or so ago...but gave up because the red fabric (it was stretchy) gave me difficulties, plus the design I was thinking of wasn't really working out. I finally picked it back up again last night and just started sewing and ended up with this. I had no plan in particular...I just grabbed fabric, cut, pleated, sewed, and safety pinned. Tadah! Probably took me about 2 hours. The waistband is made out of the stretchy fabric (so YAY it stretches! ^^), the whole skirt is pleated going in different directions in different areas, front panel is made out of the red material, the rest is made out of the black, safety-pinned where both fabrics meet, there is a slight V at the back, 2 belt loops in front, X belt loop in center back. Fabric is uneven on purpose aaand frayed edges. What do you think?

Haha...taking pictures is fun. Don't you just love the whorish stockings and boots? ^^ lol Oh, and excuse the wrinkledness...was too lazy to iron it. -_-" I love this skirt (I'll probably make more)...it's so fun to twirl in because it's so poofy and light. ^^
