Treasure Walnuts

I made these for a Treasure Swap I'm participating in, but I thought they might make nice stocking stuffers for the holidays.



I drilled 5 holes in the bottom shell (in a + pattern) with a hand drill and then painted both shells with acrylics. I left these rather plain so that the swap receipients can embellish them further, and I think they have all sorts of possibilities. I then sewed two pieces of ribbon (crosswise) to the bottom shell so that the top could be tied snuggly without slippage.

You could place tiny love notes, favorite quotes, mini goodies, etc.. inside. Have Fun!
