i feel rather accomplished
Nov. 8th, 2004 01:14 amtoday i reorganized allll my fabric into an old dresser, by project. there aren't enough drawers, unfortunately, but what i did get done, looks damn nice!
and then i went home and beaded.

i've worked out this little freehand beadweaving design that i really really like. it uses 4 different colors of beads and is like a spiraly little rope. it makes fabulous keychains.

this is a picture for scale

and this is a picture of the entire thing. just seedbeads.
it goes a lot faster in e-beads, though, i've found. i've been carrying one on my own keyring for ages now.

i play with it a lot. and the fishing line has never budged!
heres another picture where you can kind of see the construction.

hopefully i can whip up enough of these to give to co-workers this holiday season. the tiny seed bead one only took me 2 hours of dead like me last nigth and 2 hours of the stepford wives tonight. i think i'll churn them out in e-beads for the presents, though, because it goes so much faster.
fabric:
i have quite a little collection of chunks of brocades going. especially since i used it in my halloween costume
*hits self on head, reninds self to post pictures of my costume here*
and they've just been hanging out on my cutting table in joann bags. so i took them all out and folded them right side out and lined them up nicely.

awwwwww aren't they pretty? *rubs hands together miserly-esque* i'm rich! rich! if a large variety of brocades can be counted as a kind of wealth. please excuse my cat, he's nosey.
i also splurged and got one yard of every single color in the booville liquid foil collection (when the halloween fabrics went half off). i'm going to make something beautifully colorful with it, probably a bellydance costume of some sort. but for now, they will look beautiful in another drawer.

*sigh* so many projects in my head, so little time.
