i finally figured out how to make my machine work. thank you for all of your help:)
the diagram of where the thread should come out of the bobbin was very small, and i had it in the wrong place. i got it now.

i went out and bought some cheap material at a fabric wearhouse nearby to practice on, but i ended up liking the mterial and made this:


a little crooked, but i like it anyway.
