Last night, while hanging out with friends, they got a phone call from another friend, looking for the phone number for a sub delivery place. Seems these boys wanted food, but have no phone book... silly boys... :)

But this got me thinking about what could be a pretty kewl Christmas gift for some of the guys on my list, who are notoriously difficult to shop for: some sort of magnet with the phone numbers of the assorted restaurants around town who deliver.

The difficulty I'm running into was what to make this out of...

I was initially thinking I could find magnets with a frame meant to hold cross stitch, and make little cross stitched phone lists... the only problem with that is that I'd need to list at LEAST three places (Chinese, subs, and tacos), and I ought add at least one or two of the pizza places as well. I'm a little concerned about getting 4-5 places on a relatively small magnet, and have it still be readable...

My next thought was to get some chopsticks and some nifty printer paper, and just run off lists on the laser printer, put a pair of chopsticks at the top and bottom, and glue the magnets to the chopsticks, but that might end up a bit bigger than what I was wanting...

And then my final idea was to get some small dry erase boards with magnets on the back, and write the numbers on them with permanent marker, possibly leaving space on the board for other stuff to be written. Only problem with this is that I know from experience that if you write over the permanent marker with dry erase marker, it will come off... useful for when people accidentally write on your dry erase board with permanent marker, but not useful in this scenario...

So am I missing an obvious idea? I think the guys would really appreciate this sort of thing, but it does need to be kinda guy-ish... :)
