Eek, sorry for the text-only post...
Nov. 12th, 2004 01:27 pmOkay, I'm pretty sure this isn't in the Memories...er...can anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to stretch a canvas? I've got the stretcher bars, some canvas, and gesso, I just don't know what to do next! AUGH, help.
Also, for the rest of you painters out there...in the long run, is it cheaper to buy pre-made canvases or to stretch your own? Because I'm finding that pre-stretched ones you get in the store, especially if you want really big ones, can get a little pricey. (I need to stretch a 30x30 inch for a project, and it would have cost nearly $30 if I had bought one prestretched. Considering that I paint A LOT, this could get a bit much.) Soooo...if I get one of those big rolls of canvas and stretch my own, would that REALLY save me money? Or no? This is important because I am a college student on a budget. ^^;;;
Thanks, girls!
