Two questions, no real input (sorry)

A while back, one of you ladies posted about removing the ink/labelling on a pom wonderful bottle. But I can't remember what you used, so could you let me in on that? Was it nail polish remover, turpentine? Dunno. I've got a plan to paint a snow-man face on this, fill it with foot soak/bath salts, and work up a little top hat for over the neck. *grin*
Second question. Those 'cold heat' soldering irons. I want one. But I have the sinking feeling that it's going to turn out to be the geek equivilant of those mini sewing machines. (IE, crap.) Of course, it's only $20, so there might not be much to lose. If you folk have tried it, give me some details.
