Seasonal Crafts
Nov. 16th, 2004 04:36 amThe crafty bug bit me once again, and I've gone crazy making goodies. Most specifically glass ornaments. I painted and decorated a number of paperstock boxes as well. And random bits of jewelry goodness. So now I share in some early Christmas cheer.
Huzzah for sparklie spirals!

The inside, with swirly sparkle goodness.

A decorative basket, filled with decorative foils and spicy pinecones!

Some of the ornaments I made.

Jingle bell necklaces-decor-thingies! I made them to be necklaces, but I suppose they could also be hung as ornaments or other random decoration.

I have a lot of fun making this stuff. I'd really love to start working with stained glass and mosaics, but have no idea where to start, nor do I really have the money to afford starter supplies. Tis the life of a college student.

Does anyone happen to have any recommendations where I could get a nice variety of decor foil papers? Like the tissue paper you use for gifts, but in more flashy sparklie colors and patterns rather than flat paper colors. The more elaborate, the better. I get lucky sometimes and find good stuff at Wal-Mart or dollar stores like Dollar Tree. Otherwise it's Mervyn's or Halmark or other such stores, and their prices for one pack of pretty foil papers can be rather expensive!
