craftgrrl | Question about using one sewing pattern for 2 different sizes.... (Reply)

I am planning on making pajama pants for three people for Christmas, but my question is this. If I buy a pattern (most that I have seen for PJ pant cover XXXL - S) would it be possible for my to cut out the pattern for my biggest size needed (XL) and then cut down the pattern again and use it for the other size needed (M). I would think in theory it would be ok, but I just wanted to get some input from someone that may have done it before.

I am not the best a using patterns, but I suck and freestyling pants.
