Nov. 22nd, 2004 09:06 pmHere are some pictures of what my mom and I've been crafting lately!
Oh, and P.S. if you are involved with the Sampler and want it to be a surprise, be warned that the last picture is my contribution to it!

My mom made these adorable purses. I'm so jealous of her sewing skills :[. Anyway, they are really durable, close with velcro, and have both a cell phone pocket and another little pocket on the opposite side. The striped one has a snap closure and doesn't have pockets, as it was the first one. They all have super cool linings, too, which are not shown. My personal favorite is the black and white one, which has checkerboard on the inside. So cute.

I made all of these earrings myself, so take that mom! Nah, just kidding. From right to left we have: 1)crazy dangly earrings I made with seed beads and my very first try at Sculpey beads, 2)snowflake earrings made with glass beads (we have a new bead shop in our neighborhood! I'm so excited!), 3)irridescent sequin earrings, 4)glass bead Christmas trees with little glass bead stars on top (aww), 5)playing card earrings (black Aces), 6)Sculpey textured pieces with pearly powder (my mom made those) and some beads, and 7)pink glass hearts and seed beads.

And finally, the scarves. I just plopped them all on my chair for a sneek peak kind of thing since I'll be taking more pictures at a "photo shoot" I'm going to have with my friends, so it's kind of hard to tell the length and whatnot. From right to left: 1) blue camo short scarf (I made this one), 2)diagonally-knitted warm-colored scarf, somewhat long (made by my mom; this one is really cool because it has triangular ends!), 3) fuzzy blue + black yarn, medium length (mom), 4) rainbow ribbon-ish scarf (my mom did a really cool stitch for this one; I have no idea what it is!), medium length, 5)shiny purple, blue, green, etc. fancy yarn scarf, shortish (mom), 6)another short, light scarf in almost "burnt" colors, definitely very fall (mom), 7)LOOOONG softsoftsoft blue scarf with white splotches (mom), 8)chunky turqouise and gray striped, long scarf (made by me).
SAMPLER PIC BELOW! WARNING! :]

Here is a big batch (25 sets) of my Sampler contribution. I'm so proud of how cute they turned out! They're plastic snowflake post earrings (six different styles), each with its own cute little card backing. I'm so excited to get my Sampler; there are awesome goodies from all kinds of indie crafters and artists! Subscriptions for the Holiday sampler are closed, but make sure to check Marie's site here to sign up for next month's sampler once this one is done.
Sorry about the rambling on! I've got even more projects on the way, as well as some stuff from Halloween (my mom made my costume, and I made a cute little tote bag) that I'll be posting next.
