Thanks to everyone who commented on my sushi candles the other day :)
I'm glad so many of you liked them.
A few people asked how I made them, so I put together a tutorial as best as I could.

So, first things first- Stuff and thingies you'll need.

Beeswax sheets. green, red, white, yellow.
exacto knife
ruler
candle wick
a candle to light (for heat)
scissors
a kitchen knife, no serrated edges.

cut a piece of the red wax into a 3.5 x 2'' rectangle

cut a piece of wick, about 5 inches long. Place it at once end of the wax and roll it up tightly until it forms a cylinder.

Cut a few pieces of the yellow and green wax and stick them onto either side of the rolled up red wax. For better stickage, hold the wax bits over a candle flame for a second to heat it slightly and make it more pliable.

Cut a long piece of white beeswax. I use the full length of the wax sheet, but you can use as much or as little as you want. Depends on how much "rice" you would like the sushi to have. :) It is also a good idea to run the white wax over the candle flame and soften it a tad before rolling it up, so it sticks better.

Next cut a rectangle of the green so it covers the outside of the candle and roll it around the outside.(like you didn't know that. hehe :) )

Heat your knife over the flame, but make sure not to scorch it!

Divide your candle in half and press the hot knife through the wax. It may take a few tries to get it all the way through. Once the wax is cut. pull the wick out a bit so either end has some sticking out then separate the wax and cut the wick in the middle so you have two candles.

And its done. Just trim the wick and your set!

Have fun!
