no one answered my previous entry so i thought i'd try again. as i wrote before i'm doing this kind of selfpromotional assignment and i wanted to incorporate some crafty elements into it. i settled on making a small plush set (and a small notepad) to hand out to people, though i was debating making each thing a handwarmer for people in the wintertime (except just reading a recent discussion here makes me think my stiff decision to use things like robe velour and velvet might not go so well in a microwave...)
so anyway i was thinking of making a 'suitcase' for the pieces, except that i don't want to buy one of those paintable wooden ones i think they make. so what i was wondering was if anyone had any ideas to accomplish this. i figured i could maybe draft one out of thick colored cardstock and maybe have it close with velcro tabs. maybe make little travel stickers to go on the outside (do they sell these?) and then silkscreen a drawing of mine on the inside like a fabric lining. but then there's the mess of how to put the fabric toys inside? i thought maybe those little twist ties for bread, or else perhaps stretch elastic sewn into the box? does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about this?
also if anyone has any links to making boxes/ paper or cardboard containers at all, i'd love to see them as inspiration.
thanks all in advance, and happy holidays!
