removing finish from glass marbles?

craftgrrlI found the most wonderful 1 1/4 inch wide glass marbles that I want to use to make some magnets. The problem is, they've got that reflective aurora borealis finish on them, which makes it tough to see through them in a lot of lights.
Anyone know a way to get rid of the finish?
