craftgrrlhuzzah, i've made a new purse!
the fabric is from two old sheets i bought at a church garage sale, probably from the 60's or 70's. i machine sewed the main part of the purse, and appliqued the flower. the handles are from a cheap canvas bag i bought at JoAnn's for about $3.
i love my new (old!) sewing machine!
