Easy idea for you guys...
Nov. 28th, 2002 11:01 amHere's another one I just finished up. Do you see the pattern? This is simply the outer egg shell, with layers removed. No dye, or varnish or anything. Just texture.
PIC HERE
Go to UGS and order yourself a fine or medium traditional kistka (like 1.75) and a cake of beeswax (75 cents or so). Place the tool tip in a candle flame to heat it, scoop up some wax, and write on a normal egg. Squiggles, stars, whatever..continuing to heat as you go. Place the whole egg in a solution of 4 parts water to 1 part "The Works Tub and Shower Cleaner" and watch as the egg starts to fizz. Every once in a while take it out and scrub with a soft toothbrush. When you can "feel" that the waxed parts are definitely raised, rinse off, dry, and put in mineral spirits to remove the wax.
Blow the egg out, attach a finding and VOILA! Cheap, and fun!
