I just learned how to knit (and perl), and am on my second scarf. One of my coworkers found out and wanted to know if I could make her a hat from this movie with Bill Murray. The hat looks like its a simple sailors cap that's a little long so that it forms a bulb at the top of the hat when worn.

I vaguely remember seeing a pattern on www.knitty.com for a salors cap but cannot for the life of me find it. So my question is, where could I find a pattern to recreate this hat and how difficult would it be to do (being an absolute beginner and all). Do I have to pick up special needles? Any advice?

Thanks for any and all advice you can give. I'd love to try this hat as I'd like to increase my skill with knitting, but don't want to set myself up for failure or her up for disappointment.
