any san diegans out there?
Dec. 11th, 2004 07:55 pmthis is slightly off topic, but i hope you all won't mind.
about six months ago, i moved from michigan to san diego to be with my fiance. things are going really well, we just got our own place, (ie: not with his room mates any more) and are getting ready to spend our second christmas together. i have a good job (i work at sea world, drawing caricatures) and am happy out here -- i really am.
but the december blues are hitting me and this is my first christmas in my life away from my family. i suffered with depression before i moved out here, and while i'm able to control it better now that my wonderful fiance is in my life on a daily basis, it still hits me sometimes. i had a panic/anxiety attack earlier this week, and this is me taking a step to right that, i suppose.
i feel fairly isolated and trapped here (i don't drive -- i know how, but don't have a car) and need to meet new people. i'd like to meet some people who shared some interests with me (especially on the crafty side, hence posting this here) and i could just hang out with and have fun with, as that is sorely lacking from my life right now.
i live in north park. i love to scrapbook, and i sew some, too. i enjoy other little smaller projects, too -- soapmaking, painting, i know how to crochet and would like to know how to knit -- hell, i'll try anything once. i'd love to find someone i could meet up with and scrapbook/craft once a week or so. and watch movies and hang out.
i've been part of this community for years now, and everyone has just always seemed so nice and cool. if there's anyone in the san diego, north park area who is looking for someone to hang out with, please drop me an email (coreymarie@gmail.com), and we can chat on AIM or something.
i hate posting something so off topic, but i hope you all understand.
