Happy Chemical Birthday, Mom!
Dec. 21st, 2004 09:05 amSo I'm painting and decoupaging this wooden box for my mom's birthday, and it's all done but the varnish. And I have a question:
Is there any brand of varnish or sealant that WON'T cause 6 different kinds of cancer in the state of California, or give me kidney and liver failure if I so much as look at it funny, or isn't plastered with about 20 gajillion terrifying warnings? I've never used sealant before and the labels are all scaring the dickens out of me.
I mean, obviously they're all chemical substances and they're not going to be safe. But I figure, the less toxins I spray into the environment, and the less I handle aforementioned toxic substances, the better. I'm just trying to find the least dangerous path possible. Guidance would be appreciated.
