fabric swap advice requested

I'm planning to host a fabric swap at my house next week. I've invited a lot of my local friends to bring all their unloved fabric in the hopes of finding it a new home.

Has anyone here ever done this? How did it go? Did you impose any rules or just -- "take what you want"?
