yarn dying!
Jan. 1st, 2005 11:35 pmi spent the better part of 5 hours today dying yarn with kool*aid, using this handy tutorial.

starting on the left, we have blue raspberry, cherry, green apple something, strawberry, and a strawberry/strawberry lemonade mix.

here, left again, we have the strawberry, the mix, grape (the only one i really didn't like the results of), and lemon lime.

left: lemonlime's corner, orange, something blue that tastes like cherries when it is mixed up. i'm so confused. and then another strawberry/strawberry lemonade mix, because i liked the way it came out and pink is my favorite colour.

a closeup of the blue raspberry. i did it first as a test. i love how bright it came out.

closeup of the first strawberry/strawberry lemonade. i LOVE this. this is definitely the one i am MOST proud of. i can't wait for it to dry so i can use it.
just a note to anyone who wants to do this: kool*aid + vinegar = stankyasshouse. please ventilate your area WELL and have some scented candles burning. maybe a fan or eighty. haha.
