Well, I got an iPod for Christmas, after many months of longing. Since I got to order it myself (boyfriend had to fess up and admit he couldn't find any in stores), I had plenty of time to read reviews over at iPodlounge.com and figure out that I was probably going to want a little case or sleeve for my iPod. I actually made an iPod sleeve by accident once, when I made a miniature purse for my friend's ball-jointed doll. It was a perfect fit and spawned the idea to produce iPod sleeves to sell along with my purses over at Sekret Powers. Why not?

So, tonight I finally got around to sewing one up.

As you might be able to tell, it's far too tight and a little bit too short. I think I need to add a quarter inch on each side, maybe a tiny bit less. The length I cut from my pattern was originally fine, but I thought it was going to be too long and sewed the bottom up too high.

The d-ring may be just for looks, but I love shit like that. Plus I figure someone would probably make practical use of it. The pocket may also be just for looks. I figure maybe it could hold tokens or little notes or something. It's a little short cause I made it from the biggest scrap I had. The next sleeve I make will have a pocket that isn't almost at the butt end of the sleeve.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the result. I forgot to put my little "number18" label on it, but that doesn't really matter. It's just a shame that it's too small...although I wonder if it would fit a mini. I have a feeling that it might be too big for a mini, and the poor thing would slip out all the time. I'll have to look for mini dimensions...unless anyone has one and could tell me??

Anyway, I'd sho like to hear what everyone's thoughts are. ^_^
