I had a dream last night that I crocheted a big soft heavy (very heavy) purple blanket.

so, of course, now all I want to do is actually make it.

one problem: I have no idea how to crocheted, but something tells me that a blanket would be the simplest was to start.

so, I'm going to poke around in some of those back entries for the links to 'how to crochet' sites, but what I need from you girls is:

what size needle should I use? what kind of yarn?

help! make my dreams come true!
