uh oh.

i went to joann's, got some cards and ribbon and cute tissue paper and buttons and fabric and decided that i'm going to make some super-cool valentines for my friends this year.
but then i encountered a problem:
tissue paper is really thin. oops. forgot about that.
how do i put it onto the card? like, i just want a stripe across it - glue would be too thick, wouldn't it? wouldn't it get all blotchy and lumpy and ugly? or tear or something?
i'm sorry if this is a stupid question or something, but i just really want these cards to turn out nice. thanks so much for any help you can give.
