A word to the wise, plus some shirts.
Feb. 4th, 2005 01:37 amI made this purse a few weeks ago for a fashion show we put together at school.

The outlines are permanent marker, and I later sprayed the whole thing with a Utrecht brand fixative. Contrary to what anyone would expect, the fixative made the ink bleed. Makes no sense, I know. I should have done a test swatch first, I suppose.

The bag in its entirety. The bag is plain white canvas with a green lining (I made a dress for the fashion show also with the same green fabric). It's painted with different concentrations of instant coffee, which, once you get the hang of it, is really fun and surprisingly easy to paint with.

A shirt that from a thrift store that I resized (drastically), added a zipper, and drew on, roughly based on a photo of Old Time Relijun in concert.

Another shirt that I drew on, as a tribute to that greatest form of artistic expression, the Etch-A-Sketch.
