Amethyst earrings?

Last year at the after-Prom party, I won a pair of amethyts. They are only about a 4th of an inch long, so pretty small. I have just had them sitting around, but I decided I'd like to use them for something. I was thinking earrings, but I have no idea how I would attach them onto earrings. This is what they look like...



I kind of wanted to make dangly ones like these earrings I have (except made with the amethysts instead of a clear stone), but is there some sort of glue or wiring technique to attach them like that?
