this evening i was poking around my mother's yarn closet (yes, she has a whole closet, no, she doesn't knit anymore very often so it's all mine now [bwahahah], and no, i wasn't so much "poking around" as i was scrambling over the boxes full of yarn, and, randomly enough, my brother's legos, and getting stuck behind them...that's an interesting story, but anyway) and i found this. i'm fairly sure that's the color. and it just happens to be the most gorgeous yarn i've ever seen in my entire life. have you ever had that feeling where something in your life has just been missing? and then once you've found it, you can finally be complete? for me, that was this yarn.
i desperately want to make myself the tempting sweater from knitty.com. so adorable.
the problem:
it's knit in the round.
i don't have large enough circular needles to knit this on. and i am a very impatient knitter, and need to start this project tonight. really, i do, i'm weird like that.
your mission: can any of you more experienced knitters (or pattern writers?) out there maybe help me with this? figure out a way to alter the pattern so that it's done on straight needles? i can get the body, i'd think that would just be the same thing (but on straights, obviously), but how would i do the sleeves? is it possible?
if anyone can get that for me, i think i could figure out how to alter the pattern to fit my gauge for this yarn.
anyone who can help me gets eternal gratitude, metaphorical sexual favors, and a cookie.
thanks! good luck! <3
