[identity profile] leopardwolf.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
I wanted to thank everyone again for responses to my last few posts. My email wasn't being sent to me properly, so I'm in the process of going back and trying to respond to each individual comment, so bear with me.

I have the tulips set out in my kitchen, just let them wilt as they would and the petals are still fine for what I had in mind. I never actually intended for them to be picture perfect. More like a potpourri texture. I think doing the same with the rest of the flowers I got will work just fine. The daylily smell sooo wonderful! So pretty. I really hate to see them wilt.

At any rate, I have another craft-tastic pondering. How on earth might I color acrylic water or resin? Think of times you might have seen those sculpted figures in various shops, that appear to be some form of liquid spilling. I think the most popular would be milk or coffee, like these:

I'm basically looking to try and get the same sort of coloration you'd find in a cup of coffee, be it straight black coffee, or more perferably coffee with cream added:

I know with the acrylic water I have used, it states very clearly not to mix it with real water, because it will ruin the mixture's ability to set. I was pondering just taking some and putting it in a mug and then painting over it with craft acrylic paints, but it wouldn't give me the same sort of effect. I tried once before to pour craft acrylic into the acrylic water, and all it did was suspend it in the solution, it didn't actually color anything, though there was some slight color bleeding, but that's to be expectd. It didn't dye the solution.

Any thoughts on how to make it work?

Now onto the sharing!
