I bought a wooden rolling pin this morning at the Sally Ann for a mere 49 cents (how could a pie-lovin' tart like myself resist such frugal temptation?). My problem is that it's kind of scummy-looking, and that will simply not do for Grammardog's pies. I was thinking of sanding it up and getting the outer layer of ick off it that way. My question to you ladies is this: How do I finish the piece? I've heard that most oils will eventually spoil when used on wood. Do I just sand it and leave it "raw", or is there a way to seal it somehow?

Sara
