bead supplies pricing question
Mar. 6th, 2005 11:05 pmI hope this is okay to post here. so, I posted something on craigslist in an attempt to get free supplies to try out new crafts. a girl answered who has beading stuff and she offered the following for $25:
Blue topaz & aquamarine briollettes
Strand of rose quartz
Turqoise rounds
Pink freshwater pearls
Large bluestone (awesome)
Round purple & tan mother of pearl
Rectangle mother of pearl
Tan suede cord
Pink silk cord
Soft flex wire cord
Elastic cord
Silver & Bronze O rings
Silver rods w/ ball ends
Long silver rods
Silver toggle clasps
Gold and bronze clasps
Silver and gold end clamps
2 pair gypsy earrings
1 pair and 1 single hook earrings
Silver ribbon
Bead threaders
Assorted glass beads (white, blue, green balls, white, green, black stars)
Brown suede flat cord (scrap)
I know it's a long list, but then since I know nothing about beading and how much the supplies cost, I can't tell if I am getting a good deal, esp considering that I originally didn't really want to pay any $$ at all for stuff, cheapo that I am. what do you guys think? should I take her up on this offer or just find a bead place and get to pick out the things I like??
EDITED to add: she claims to have spent over $200 for this stuff, and $15 on the spool of elastic cord alone.
