since i've just re-discovered The Smashing Pumpkins after about 4 years, i made myself a backpatch for a coat that i screwed up while painting. this is from the booklet for Machina.


it looks much better when the camera flash isn't blasting it into washed-out-land. i still need to trim it and serge the edges, but i broke all the needles last week... oops. i'm wonna dem agressive type sewers.




i smeared chalk all over the back, then traced it, it produce this:


the rest was sheer talent. har har. using fabric paint like watercolor is one of my favorite things.
