glue for artist canvas?

I have a question, I read the www.this to that .com chart for glues, and I still am not sure. I would like to glue some pieces of painted canvas to another canvas I am painting now. Kind-of like a collage effect,using some pieces of an older painting,which I have cut up, and I want to glue it down to the newest painting I am doing. What kind of glue do you think I should use? Thanks,in advance! sorry no pics, but I'll post the painting when I'm done. :D
