Tips and Tricks for making your own dress form??

In the interest of no longer inadvertently sticking myself in the ass with pins while attempting to properly fit something that I'm sewing, I've decided to make my own dress form. It's going to be the standard duct tape/paper tape variety, but I suspect that, although it looks easy enough, some of y'all might have a few handy tips that will make the process and final project extra fabulous.
