Pouch making mission...

So tonight I'm going to try to make some pouches and I've got a few cute materials, but I wanted to cut out some shapes from felt to sew on, just to add more interest. Also, I was thinking about putting felt between the lining and the outer fabric so they'd be stiffer.
Will the felt get all weird if you try to wash them, or will it fall apart, etc?

Any help would be much appreciated.
