May. 8th, 2005 10:54 pmGrrr, I need some advice right now.
I'm bought a black corset at the other day (which I love) but couldn't find a good skirt to go with it. So I figured that I would just make it. Skirts are pretty simple after all.
So I find a pattern for a full, flowy skirt and I selected the size that normally works for me when sewing. I start the pattern, cut everything out and realize the skirt is like 4 sizes to small to me.
Now I get to be all creative and completely modify the pattern to add in more material so I can actually fit into the skirt.
My question is: how can you tell on a sewing pattern what size to select. I try holding the pattern to my waist but it's still difficult for me to get a good idea when the front and back of the skirt is the same pattern so I only have one side.
