My latest craft obsession has been making "custom" My Little Ponies by rehairing, repainting, adding accessories, etc.

What I want to do is something unique- I want to "scent" the ponies (right now I am making a Cosmopolitan one that I want to scent with cranberry and lime). I figured the best thing to use would be the scent oils I use for soap making since they are by their nature safe for human skin (and hopefully, subsequently, ponies!).

I am wondering what I can do that won't ruin the plastic/vinyl they're made out of since I plan on selling some of these and want to make something that will last. I have one pony that's my tester pony that I try things out on (poor thing). I tried mixing scent oil in with the sealant I use, and that just made it sticky. I tried combing a very small amount into the pony's hair but that made it very oily. The other thing I tried that was most successful  was dabbing some oil inside a pony with a q-tip and then blow drying the inside of the pony to quickly lock in the scent and not have wet oil inside the pony. But I still don't know if this is something that could cause it to rot out or discolor over time- anyone have ANY ideas of what I can try?

I should mention I use acrylic paints and sometimes add Polymer clay parts (ie, horns/wings) and I have heard polymer clay can be scented- anyone heard of this? can acrylic paints be scented in any way? again, any other ideas on how to scent a My Little Pony?

Oh, if you want to see pictures of the ones I've made so far, my site is http://home.comcast.net/~kalydscopeeyes/. My favorite is my Marilyn Monroe one :)

Thank you girls, for any ideas!
