Chocolate covered strawberries.
May. 15th, 2005 04:10 pmI love love LOVE chocolate covered strawberries but they're just way too expensive. The cheapest I've found is $2 for 1 large strawberry and the most expensive I've seen is $7 for one small strawberry. That's insane. So I tried to make my own.
Step 1: Clean strawberries
Step 2: Cut off green tops
Step 3: Put strawberries on a plate in the freezer for 10 minutes
Step 4: Poor Magic Shell (chocolate ice cream topping) into a shot glass or similar container
Step 5: Dip strawberries into magic shell
Half way done:
Way too blurry:

Is there an easier (and still cheap) way to go about doing this?
P.S. This is Magic Shell: http://images.netgrocer.com/jpegs/5150002500.jpg It's liquid chocolate that turns hard once it touches something cold.
