weekend project

Yes it was a rather crafty weekend! I had my boyfriend painting a model car (that I purchased for him as a bribe to allow me more time in the craft store), and I did my stuff. This project in particular took a lot of time... mainly because I seem to have ADD and cannot sit still for more than 10 minutes!



I bought an unpainted wooden container, painted it in acrylics, stenciled on 4 characters, sealed it with a glossy varnish, glued on gemstones with silicone sealer, and lined it with zebra print felt. Oh, and I painted the knob with a silver paint pen. Pretty simple, actually. But extremely time consuming... probably because I am terribly perfectionistic when it comes to making things.







I plan to fill this thing with stickers, kinder surprise eggs, marble magnets, & small toys/knick knacks and give it to my friend for xmas. I hope she likes it. I think it's unique. She can use it to put her own junk in. I plan on doing something similar for one or two other friends. I'll probably post pics when I do.



(My obligatory marble magnet pic! I'm giving my friend the ones in the bag. I used images from an old Hello Kitty desk calendar. And I switched to 5/8 inch magnets because I didn't like the thickness of the 1/2 inch magnets. In my opinion, these fit the marbles much more nicely.)
