Wine charms

My mom has fallen in love with wine charms...You know, the little rings with beads or charms on them that you put on glasses at parties to differentiate whose is whose. The problem is that a lot of them look really cheap or have stupid beads on them, so I was thinking, WHAT A GREAT THING TO MAKE! I was just wondering if anyone had tried this and if you have any advice?
